Institute of the Incarnate Word

Nestled in East Durham, NY, the St. Patrick's Retreat Center, provides the Religious Family of the Incarnate Word with a location for annual Spiritual Exercises retreats, Catholic youth and young adult conferences, and boys and girls summer camps.

About Us

The Religious Family of the Incarnate Word is made up to two separate religious orders who share the same founder, charism, spirituality, and way of life: the Institute of the Incarnate Word, a clerical institute of consecrated life, and the Institute Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matara, a female institute of consecrated life. Both Institute were founded in Argentina by Fr. Carlos Miguel Buela, for the sake of "extending the Incarnation 'to all men, in the whole man, and in all the manifestations of man' in accordance with the teachings of hte Magisterium of the Church." Our Province

St. Patrick's Retreat Center is run by the members of the Institute of the Incarnate Word in the Province of the Immaculate Conception. Our Province, under the direction of Fr. Daniel Mentesana, IVE, spans four countries: the USA, Canada, Mexico, & Guyana.

Events @ St. Patrick's

St. Patrick's Retreat Center is host of many apostolic events in our province. Each year we host the Summer Youth Festival, Universitas, Boys' Summer Camp, Girls' Summer Camp, Catechetical Congress, Family Day Weekends, and various Spiritual Exercises Retreats.

Summer Camp!

Summer camp weeks are quickly approaching. Be sure to get the registration completed for your child or teen so that his or her place can be reserved. Space is limited, so once the camp reservations are full we will have to start a waiting list.

These week-long experiences are filled with fun and games, friends and leaders, good food and good teaching. It's a time that our youth will not forget. Scholarships are available so please ask for more information if needed.
